Pilar Castro-Kiltz is an advisor, consultant, and entrepreneur who guides organizations through improving their strategies, operations, and communications.
In her work at More Canvas Consulting, which she founded in 2014, Pilar collaborates with leaders and managers to chart the path forward, offering fresh, experienced perspective while generating materials that will help organizations guide all stakeholders through change, whether that’s customers or donors, funders, employees, or constituents. Simultaneously, the More Canvas team immerses themselves in the work of the business, adding immediate capacity and collecting insights to design new processes and communications that are fully customized to the culture and needs of the company.
Pilar’s approach, which connects storytelling with strategy, draws both from her professional experience and her training at The Wharton School at The University of Pennsylvania and NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, where she earned an MBA and an MFA, respectively.
With a Bachelor’s degree from Princeton University, in 2013 Pilar founded The Princeton Arts Alumni—a network and resources for arts creators, patrons, entrepreneurs, and enthusiasts. The nonprofit organization engages alumni in and for the arts: across disciplines, geographies, and decades, as it fortifies infrastructure and relationships for a more resilient, equitable, and innovative arts landscape.
Pilar continues to create as a playwright and theater maker. While she was Executive Artistic Director of Ensemble Dance, a dance-theater company creating original interdisciplinary works for performance in New York City, Pilar’s choreography was seen at Radio City Music Hall, Off-Off Broadway stages, competitively curated festivals, and on film.
